This place was absolutely wonderful. I am so greatful to see a museum like this that not only addresses the horrors of slavery, but seeks to humanize the people and cultures that were stolen. It, unlike most museums that adress the topic, actually humanizes the victims of slavery, instead of reducing them to a mere number in a European-centered narrative. The museum also serves as an important reality check for the unfortunately dark history of such a vibrant and beautiful island.
