We had an amazing time at the Ostrich Farm. We did the 1.5 hour ATV tour along parts of the coastline and through an area that resembled a desert. This tour package came with lunch. We had the ostrich burger which was absolutely delicious.
Back at the Farm we did the tour. Our guide (can't remember his name) was quite good. He was a fountain of knowledge and knew everything there was to know about ostriches. We had the opportunity to feed some young ostriches and even stood on an egg...it's unbelievable how much weight the eggs are able to accommodate. Overall, it was a great day out and I will definitely visit again when next I'm in Curacao.
It’s a nice little sanctuary, some kind of zoo, relaxing.
The restaurant offers ostrich, we tired all the dishes of ostrich meat, egg omelette, steak, and the burger - I would not recommend any. And it’s priced very high, the burger costed $20 USD and was tiny and inedible.
I’m comparing the food to South Africa, where I’ve aten Ostrich, and it’s heavenly delicious there.. I mean better than most steaks sold. The food here was really bad.
When we arrived we went to look at the cage next to the parking and an employee told us off, don’t come close to look at the [alligator] unless you pay $35 USD for the tour of the farm. Thought it’s rude.
Tours are actually the main source of income for the farm, they do not turnover that much Ostrich meat. However they do have a restaurant at the farm which serves meat and eggs (and good coffee). And a small zoo of other animals. Tour was enjoyable.
Really nice place to visit for a tour to see, feed and learn everything about ostriches. After the tour you can eat Ostrich and other great food at Zambezi restaurant. With an amazing view on St Joris Bay. I highly recommend.
Interesting tour of ostrich farm, loved the free range parrots and chickens . Didn't eat there so can't say anything about that. Although they have a large sprawling seating area to relax in. Would be nice if the animals had bigger enclosures. Good for a day out with children
